IHMS - Specialists in Supporting Medically Return and Reintegration Programs

The return of migrants with medical conditions of varying degrees from EU Member States raises specific challenges for governments in both host countries and countries of return.

The Member State must ensure that all returns of migrants with medical conditions meet the standards set out by the European Convention of Human Rights, making it necessary to provide medical assistance and related services in relevant cases throughout the whole return process and after.

IHMS aims to increase the effectiveness of EU return and reintegration programmes by providing medical support to the returnees.

Our role is to assess availability and accessibility of healthcare in countries of origin to assess the feasibility of the return and to design individual medical assistance plans.
